This is a guided fitness walking tour where you complete 10,000 steps while exploring the Singapore Botanic Gardens. Starting from Tanglin Gate, you will visit the tranquil Swan Lake, the octagonal Bandstand built in 1930, Palm Valley with hundreds of palm species, and a 6-hectare primary rainforest. Admission to the National Orchid Garden, home to more than 1,000 orchid species, is included, and the tour runs in small groups of up to 10 people.
Start your 10,000-step workout at Tanglin Gate, the historic southern entrance of the gardens. Pass the iconic cast-iron gates and heritage-preserved pillars, then walk past the Botany Centre into the older landscaped sections. You will walk about 7–8 km along winding outer loop paths and garden trails.
A short walk from Tanglin Gate brings you to Swan Lake, the oldest water feature in the gardens. Walk the path lined with majestic old tembusu trees and look for the resident mute swans gliding on the water.
Follow a gentle slope up to the octagonal Bandstand, built in 1930 and once used by military bands. Set on a small hill surrounded by Yellow Rain Trees, it is one of the most photographed spots in the gardens.
Pass Burkill Hall and continue up to the National Orchid Garden. Explore more than 1,000 orchid species and 2,000 hybrids, including the cool Mist House and the VIP Orchid Garden. Admission to the National Orchid Garden is included.
Descend from the orchid garden toward the Eco-Lake area to reach Palm Valley, where hundreds of palm species blend with open lawns. Finally, loop the trail through the 6-hectare primary rainforest, which is older than the modern gardens, and follow the elevated path under the tall tree canopy to the exit.
※ The walking distance is about 7–8 km and takes about 2 hours 30 minutes to 3 hours.
