Start by overlooking night-time Asakusa
from the observation terrace
Meet your guide at the 1st floor entrance of the Asakusa Culture Tourist Information Center, right opposite Kaminarimon, and go up to the 8th floor observation terrace. Take in the illuminated Senso-ji and Skytree and preview the whole route.
Walk Kaminarimon and Nakamise-dori on a quiet night
At Kaminarimon, usually crowded by day, try a low-angle shot right under the lantern, possible only on a quiet night. On Nakamise-dori, look for the "Asakusa Emaki" picture scrolls that appear on shop shutters after closing.
Photograph the illuminated Senso-ji Main Hall and Five-Story Pagoda
The highlight is the illuminated Senso-ji Main Hall and Five-Story Pagoda. Photograph the red pagoda against the night sky and try omikuji, traditional Japanese fortune slips.
Finish at Asakusa Shrine and Denboin-dori
At neighboring Asakusa Shrine, your guide explains in a conversational way why there is a shrine next to a temple. Finally, take a souvenir photo on Edo-style Denboin-dori before the tour ends. Afterwards you can enjoy Asakusa's night-time food spots.
