Program
Depart San Pedro de Atacama
and enter the Domeyko mountain range
Pickup from your accommodation starts at 7:00 AM, and you head by vehicle toward Rainbow Valley. After driving about 1 hour toward Calama, you enter the Domeyko mountain range, the oldest in Atacama.
Walk through the colorful layers of Rainbow Valley
Rainbow Valley (Valle del Arcoíris) is rich in minerals that reveal layers of many colors, which is why it is called the 'valley of the rainbow'. Walk with your guide and learn about the rocks and strata that create this unique landscape. Along the way, you may also see animals such as guanacos and llamas.
Yerbas Buenas petroglyphs and an outdoor breakfast
Visit the petroglyphs of Yerbas Buenas, one of the oldest sites in Chile, and learn about the pre-Hispanic cultures of the Andes. Enjoy breakfast outdoors in the morning, and the tour ends in central San Pedro de Atacama.
