The Yaeyama hime firefly is a small land-dwelling firefly found only in the Yaeyama Islands and is most active from March to June. It glows for only a short time after sunset, and hundreds of them twinkling at once look like a natural illumination. This tour is a limited-season program run only during this period.

Travel to the firefly spot by the guide's vehicle

In the evening, meet your guide at Uehara Port or your hotel in the Uehara area and head to the site in the operator's vehicle. After arriving and getting ready, you will start walking toward the firefly spot recommended by your guide.

Wait for the moment hundreds of fireflies light up together

At the spot, wait until the fireflies start to glow. When it is time, the Yaeyama hime fireflies light up all at once and fill the forest with light. After viewing, guests who used hotel pickup will be dropped off at their hotel.
