Ride the cable car or chairlift up the mountain
Mount Takao, 599 m above sea level in Meiji no Mori Takao Quasi-National Park, is about an hour from central Tokyo and is called the mountain with the most climbers in the world. Ride the cable car or chairlift from the foot to the mountainside, then walk to the summit.
The cable car climbs a steep track through green forest and autumn leaves, while the open chairlift offers a more thrilling ride.
Pass the observation deck and Yakuoin to the summit
Trail No. 1 (Omotesando Course), running from the foot to the summit, meets the cable car and chairlift stops. The observation deck overlooks Tokyo, and on clear days you can see Mount Fuji.
In front of the main hall of Yakuoin, visited for over 1,200 years, stands a statue of a tengu, the symbol of Mount Takao. Autumn leaves are at their best in mid-November.
End the day at the hot spring
After coming down, pick up a towel with your voucher and relax at Keio Takaosan Onsen Gokurakuyu. The hot spring admission fee is paid separately.
At Mount Takao Monkey Park, use the feed voucher to feed the monkeys, and enjoy wildflowers at the Wild Grass Garden.

For the Keio Line/Inokashira Line 1-day pass, open the usage screen via the "Use e-ticket" button in your booking email or the voucher link, then scan the QR code at a QR-compatible ticket gate to enter and exit.
For the cable car/chairlift, Monkey Park, Wild Grass Garden, onsen towel and department store discount, show the e-ticket to staff and press "Use".
