This is an admission ticket to Kumamoto Castle in Chuo-ku, Kumamoto. Entry to the main keep, reconstructed and renovated in 2022, is included.

Opening hours are 09:00 to 17:00, with last entry at 16:00. Closed at the end of the year (December 29 to 31).

A majestic castle with 400 years of history

With a history of more than 400 years, Kumamoto Castle is one of Japan's three great castles, and many of its buildings are designated as Important Cultural Properties. Its high stone walls, gates and buildings show its outstanding defensive design.

A castle under restoration and keep views

After severe damage in the 2016 earthquake, restoration work continues to bring back its majestic pre-earthquake appearance. Seeing the restoration in progress is a rare experience.

From the top of the main keep, you can enjoy panoramic views of Kumamoto city.

History experiences at Wakuwakuza

With the set option, you can also visit Kumamoto Castle Museum Wakuwakuza, a space where you can see, hear and touch to experience the history and culture of Kumamoto Castle. Opening hours of the castle and Wakuwakuza may differ.
