Paris Seine Christmas & New Year's Eve Cruise

This was a fun special occasion activity but if you are not celebrating something, I’d do a regular non-meal Seine cruise. For Bastille day we looked forward to seeing the fireworks, but the boat had a closed roof and no outside access. People got out of their table seats to swarm to the front, blocking the view for anyone else still seated. We didn’t see much, and we weren’t that close to the tower. However, I felt for our group it was a safer way to view compared to being among the crowds that gather along the riverbank. It was easy to find the check in and the experience was overall positive. The food was very delicious and featured fish, chicken, vegetables, an egg dish, and a chocolate dessert. The strange thing was that other tables were provided menus outlining what would be coming, we did not get that. We also did not get bread as everyone else did, and had to ask. I recommend the experience but with the understanding that it is not a luxury experience as the price would imply.

The food was excellent and being able to sit and eat while seeing the Bastille Day celebrations during peak jet lag worked out wonderfully as anticipated. Please do be aware though that the government mandates 15% tip included in restaurant prices, ie service est compli, making the approach by the waitstaff for a tip on the food bill (which had been paid for in advance at time of booking) make what was otherwise a wonderful evening feel like a tourist trap.
