Program
Explore one of the world's oldest zoos
at a time that suits you
The Ménagerie zoo in the Jardin des Plantes was founded in 1794. Focusing on small and medium-sized species, it lets you see about 150 species in carefully designed enclosures. You can enter any time during opening hours on your selected date.
Meet endangered animals and learn about conservation
See a variety of animals, including the brightly feathered Bali myna (Rothschild's myna), the golden lion tamarin and the Arabian oryx. You can also learn about the zoo's conservation work, such as its breeding programs for the Arabian oryx and golden lion tamarin.
Follow the 12-step biodiversity trail to learn about local wildlife and conservation, and in spring you may witness the birth season of young animals such as the red-legged pademelon and Kirk's dik-dik.
Stroll among 19th-century buildings
The Ménagerie is also a heritage site with buildings dating back to the early 19th century. From the Rotonde to the Grande Volière, each building reflects the zoo's long history.
