Starting at Place Colette, you pass Place de la Concorde, the Louvre Museum, Place Vendôme and the Palais-Royal area, finishing at Place des Victoires. From Revolution to Empire:
walk through history in central Paris
The tour starts near the NOXA store on Place Colette. With a local guide, you walk past major Paris landmarks and learn how Parisians lived during the French Revolution and the Empire of Napoleon Bonaparte. Beyond the big history, the guide shares intriguing stories, forgotten legends and hidden details that many travelers miss.
Pass Place de la Concorde and the Louvre Museum
At Place de la Concorde, you hear about the king's execution, the guillotine and how executions were carried out during the Revolution. Then, walking around the Louvre Museum area, you learn how Napoleon rose to become emperor, the American influence on the French Revolution, and the story of Lafayette. Entry inside the museum is not included.
Hear hidden stories at Place Vendôme and the Palais-Royal
At Place Vendôme, you have time for photos while exploring traces of the Empire. In the Palais-Royal district, the stories continue with Empress Joséphine, Napoleon's wife and the Empire's master schemer, Marie Antoinette, the last queen of France, and the secrets of the legendary Bastille fortress.
Finish the tour at Place des Victoires
The tour ends at Place des Victoires. A small surprise gift awaits you at the end of the tour.
