This small-group guided tour explores Black history and African diaspora culture in Paris over a full day, moving from neighborhood to neighborhood. Start with a light breakfast at Les Deux Magots café in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, then visit the Présence Africaine bookstore, once the heart of Black intellectual culture, and La Rhumerie, steeped in Caribbean culture. In the afternoon, explore the market streets and shops of La Goutte d'Or and Château Rouge, known as Little Africa, like a local, and finish with a meal at BMK Paris-Bamako. An English-speaking guide leads a small group of up to 10 people.

The tour begins at Les Deux Magots, a historic café in Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Over a light French breakfast of croissants, buttered bread and a hot drink, get to know each other and hear about Black writers, artists, musicians and thinkers from across the African diaspora. You will travel between stops by metro using the included day pass.

Next is the Librairie Présence Africaine, a center of Black intellectual culture in Paris where writers, activists and scholars from Africa, the Caribbean and the Americas gathered. For about 30 minutes, talk about its legacy and the cultural network that grew around it.

At La Rhumerie, taste spirits and food while learning how Caribbean culture took root in Paris. You will also hear the history of the Black American jazz musicians, soldiers and entrepreneurs who shaped Pigalle's nightlife and music scene in the 20th century.

In the afternoon, head north to Château Rouge and La Goutte d'Or, known as Little Africa, and spend about 1.5 hours strolling the market streets and local shops. Taste local snacks and coffee, step into shops to ask questions, and see up close how African and Caribbean communities live and express their culture in Paris today.
The tour ends with a shared meal at BMK Paris-Bamako near Château d'Eau, bringing together the history and culture explored throughout the day.
