Drive a snowmobile yourself
across the snowy plains of Abisko
This snowmobile tour starts when you meet your guide at the meeting point in Abisko Östra. It departs at 9:00 AM or 1:30 PM, and returns at around 11:00 AM for the morning tour and around 3:30 PM for the afternoon tour. To drive a snowmobile yourself you need a valid standard driving licence from your home country; without one, you can join as a passenger.
Your guide explains the gear and how to drive before departure
An experienced Arctic guide makes sure you have the equipment and knowledge you need before you drive a snowmobile. This is not a high-speed tour. Most guests drive a snowmobile for the first time, so the pace suits all levels.
Ride between mountains and frozen lakes
Follow trails through the snowy landscape surrounded by majestic mountains and frozen lakes, across the Arctic wilderness and Abisko National Park. Along the way the guide shares knowledge about the area and the national park, and a warm drink and snacks are provided.

It is about a 10-minute walk from Abisko.net and Abisko Mountain Lodge and about a 5-minute walk from Abisko Guesthouse. Guests staying at STF Abisko Turiststation are picked up 15 minutes before the start time, and guests staying at Abisko Mountain Lodge and Abisko.net Hostel and Huskies are picked up 10 minutes before the start time from the Abisko Mountain Lodge parking lot, at no extra cost.
