Abisko Arctic Ice Fishing Small-Group Experience - Campfire and Warm Drinks

Try ice fishing on a frozen

This small-group tour takes you out onto a frozen lake from Abisko for ice fishing. An instructor teaches you how to fish, and you are given warm clothing and the equipment you need before dropping your own line through the ice. The tour takes about 2 hours from the meeting point.

Head out onto the frozen lake

In early winter, the ice on Lake Torneträsk is not yet stable, so you take a minibus to a clean nearby lake and walk a short way onto the ice. Once the ice on Lake Torneträsk is safe to walk on, you ride a snowmobile out across the lake.

Drill your own hole and fish

Use an ice drill to make your own hole in the ice, then lower your bait to catch fish from the Arctic lake. No fishing experience is needed, as the instructor walks you through each step.

Warm up by the fire in a wooden hut

While you fish, a campfire is lit and you can enjoy a warm drink. Freshly caught fish can be grilled over the fire, and you can rest by the flames in a cozy wooden hut.
