Abisko Arctic Morning Snowshoe Small Group Experience with Hotel Pickup

Snowshoe hiking with Sarah from AKKA Nature in Abisko was great fun! Not only is she a skilled hiking guide and accomplished hiker in her own right, but she's also a fountain of knowledge about the Abisko area. The hike was a perfect combination of recreation and education, and that's what I came to Abisko for. I felt so lucky to have discovered her here on GetYourGuide. It's so much better to hike in the snow with a local guide than trying to find and follow a path there by GPS. I spoke to a skilled skier who tried snowshoe hiking on their own and they slipped through deep ice and had to turn back. With Sarah everything was perfect and that was the best use of limited time. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful experience on our snowshoe hike in Abisko! Our guide, Sarah, was very kind and knowledgeable, making the hike both enjoyable and informative about The nature and Sami culture. The about 2-hour walk towards the viewpoint was peaceful and beautifully scenic, a perfect way to enjoy the winter landscape while enjoying a very nice hot tea make with Nordic berries. We did a snowshoe hike with Akka Nature, guided by Sarah, and it was absolutely fantastic! Sarah is incredibly friendly, warm, and approachable, and she truly made our experience extra special. We were actually the only ones booked for that time slot, which meant we ended up having a private tour. Such a unique and personal experience! Everything was explained perfectly, from how to put on the snowshoes to interesting facts about the surrounding nature and the town. Sarah made sure we felt comfortable and confident the entire time. We hiked all the way to the top of a mountain, where we were rewarded with a breathtaking view. It was truly magical. At the top, we enjoyed a warm drink and had plenty of time to take photos and soak in the scenery. All in all, I would highly recommend this tour to everyone. I made core memories on this tour that I will remember for the rest of my life. Hiking an Arctic mountain was a real bucket list experience for me, and doing it with Sarah made it ten times more meaningful. This was honestly one of the best things I have done in my life, and definitely the highlight of my Abisko trip. I would recommend this tour with Sarah to absolutely anyone visiting Abisko – you can skip other activities if you need to, but do not skip this. Throughout the hike, Sarah shared so much about local culture, heritage, history, nature, the landscape, animals, and the different trails, and she explained everything in such an engaging and thoughtful detail. She offered to take lots of photos & videos of us and showed us the best places to make snow angels, and write our names in the letterbox at the top of the hill. She was so kind and flexible with our schedule, and even surprised us with snacks and drinks. It’s these personal touches that made the tour truly special!
