After pickup from your accommodation, you head to the Abisko National Park area for a small-group hike of about 3.5 hours led by an English-speaking guide. Groups are limited to 8 people and the tour starts at 2:00 PM. The guide chooses the route based on the weather and snow conditions of the day.

Some routes cross the frozen Lake Torneträsk to a small island or visit a tipi. Climbing Stornabben gives you panoramic views over Abisko National Park and the surrounding valley. Another route explores the Abisko River canyon, one of the park's best-known sights, and stops at a fire pit on the shore of Lake Torneträsk.

Meet the Arctic afternoon light and signs of wildlife

Depending on the season, you may see Arctic light and sunset around dusk, and there is a slight chance of seeing the aurora depending on conditions. As you walk, the guide shares what to look for in tracks left by wildlife, the local indigenous people, and what life in the Arctic is like. You may have a chance to see reindeer, mountain hares, foxes, birds, and Scandinavian moose, but sightings are not guaranteed.

Enjoy warm drinks and snacks by the campfire

If time allows, the guide builds a campfire and serves warm drinks and light snacks. It is a chance to warm up and rest during the hike.
