This is a small guided hike through the Abisko Valley with Alaskan huskies. Participation is limited to 4 guests and it lasts about 3 hours. The guide speaks English.
You meet at the Abisko.net Hostel & Huskies reception and begin by meeting the dogs.
Pair up with your own husky on a harness
After meeting the dogs and hearing a short introduction, each guest is paired with one husky using a comfortable dog harness and belt system.
Huskies love to run and explore, so the hike is lively and interactive. They are sled dogs and may pull you during the hike.
Walk through birch forest and open valley scenery
With your guide and the dogs, you follow a trail through birch forest and the open scenery of the Abisko Valley.
Along the way you can enjoy mountain views, and there is time to take photos.
Hear about the life of sled dogs
During the hike you can hear your guide talk about how sled dogs and huskies live in the Arctic and what life with dogs in Abisko is like. You are welcome to ask questions.
It is an outdoor experience in Swedish Lapland that suits nature and dog lovers.
