I ended up having a private 1-1 tour with my guide Sunjoo. It was very informative, relaxed and educational. Highly recommended.

We loved our tour with Sunjoo! She was amazing! Her English was fantastic and easy to understand. She kept the tour moving at a leisurely pace. She always found bits of shade for us to sit in while she described a certain building or piece of history. We love love love love that she took the initiative to take family pictures for us at various points around the palace. On trips, we never get pics of all of us together so this was super special. She took the time to answer all of our questions and even gave us a suggested restaurant list after the tour was over. We loved that her tour wasn’t just about the palace architecture itself, but was about the families and couples who lived there. Hands down one of our most favorite moments on our trip! We did luck out and get Sunjoo all to ourselves for the tour, it’s a tour for 8 and our family of 4 were the only ones scheduled for that time block. We loved that!

Sunjoo was absolutely amazing!! Her knowledge of the palace and Korean history was incredible, and she was able to answer every question we had. What made the experience so special was that she didn’t just explain the beautiful architecture and design of the palace, she brought the history to life by telling us about the people who lived there, their daily lives, and what life was truly like behind the palace walls. She was incredibly engaging, knowledgeable, and made the entire experience so much more meaningful. I would 100% recommend booking a tour with Sunjoo if you want to really understand and appreciate the history of the palace rather than simply walk through it!
