This is a guided hike of about 3 hours that starts at Changuimun Gate with an English-speaking guide and follows the Seoul City Wall up Bugaksan (Baegaksan). Walking the last trail of Bugaksan, open since 1968, you hear about the city wall built in 1396 and the history of the Joseon dynasty. You pass a pine tree that still bears scars from the 1968 raid on the Blue House and a new viewpoint overlooking Gyeongbokgung and the Blue House. The tour ends at the stairs near the Jahamun Tunnel that appear in the movie Parasite.

Start at Changuimun Gate, hike Bugaksan along
the Seoul City Wall and finish at the Parasite stairs
Meet your English-speaking local guide at the Changuimun Information Center for a guided hike of about 3 hours along the city wall of Bugaksan (Baegaksan). Walk the last trail of Bugaksan, open to the public since 1968, while hearing the history of the Seoul City Wall, and finish near the stairs featured in the movie Parasite. There are many steep steps, so comfortable shoes are needed.
Walk along the 600-year-old Seoul City Wall

Follow the Seoul City Wall, built in 1396 to protect the capital of Joseon, and hear stories of the Joseon dynasty. Starting from the Dolphin Rock rest area, you pass wooden-deck paths and slopes, granite rocks and old pine trees, and see the Manse Dongbang rock inscribed with a wish for the king's long life. After passing the 1.21 Pine Tree, which still bears scars from the 1968 raid on the Blue House, you climb to the Baegakmaru summit (342 m) and return along the wall.
Look down on Gyeongbokgung and the Blue House from a new viewpoint

From a new viewpoint along the route you can look down on Gyeongbokgung Palace and the Blue House. You can also look out for deer that live on the mountain slopes.
Overlook Buam-dong and finish at the Parasite stairs

Back at Changuimun Gate, look down over Buam-dong, a quiet hillside village just outside the wall. The name Buam-dong comes from a rock where villagers once prayed for a son. The tour ends at the stairs next to the Jahamun Tunnel, the same stairs the Kim family walks down in the pouring rain in the movie Parasite.
