The ger you will be staying in is a portable tent-like house made of wood-framed walls covered with wool felt and white cloth, where you can get a glimpse of the lifestyle and traditions of the Mongolian people. Introduction to Major Tourist Destinations
1. Kharkhorin Wall:
Kharkhorin was the capital of the former Mongolian Empire founded by Genghis Khan and is home to the Erdene Zuu Monastery.
The wall surrounding this temple is 400m long and wide, and 108 stupas (stone pagodas) are placed on the wall.
2. Erdene Zuu Monastery:
The Erdene Zuu Monastery, Mongolia's first Lama Buddhist monastery, was founded in Karakorum (Kharkhorin) by Ogatai Khan, son of Genghis Khan, in the 13th century as he expanded his territory into Europe.
3. Tsenkher Hot Spring (Camp Stay):
Tsenkher in Mongolian means 'blue', and Tsenkher Hot Spring is a 'blue hot spring'. Hot spring water, mainly at 87 degrees, is pumped up to the ger village, where you can enjoy a hot spring bath.
4. Elsen Tasarkhai Desert:
Enjoy the Mongolian desert by riding sand sleds on the sand dunes and watching the sunset while trekking through the desert.
**Outdoor activities (camel riding, etc.) may not be possible due to weather issues in cold winter weather.**
