See unique exhibitions at the
Syracuse Everson Museum of Art
Escape downtown New York and visit the Everson Museum of Art in Syracuse. The Everson Museum of Art is a complex cultural art space where events of various themes are held, unlike existing art museums. Inside the museum, there are approximately 10,000 different works of art on display. You can also see various new exhibitions that are held every year, as well as unique events such as concerts.
A museum with a long history

The Everson Museum of Art boasts a longer history than these super museums. Founded in 1897 by art historian George F. Comfort (1833~1911), it is a historic place celebrating its 110th anniversary this year, and Comfort, the founder of the museum, later made a great contribution to the establishment of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Founded as the 'Syracuse Museum of Fine Arts', the museum changed its name to Everson in 1941 after Helen Everson, who donated her collection to the city of Syracuse, and has been operating ever since.
Meet 10,000 works

The Everson Museum of Art has a total of 11,000 items, including paintings, sculptures, ceramics, videos, and photographs. Among the paintings are many works by Edward Hicks, Cindy Sherman, Philip Guston, Malcolm Morley, and Jean-Michel Basquiat, including George Washington, the first president of the United States, painted by Gilbert Stuart, so it is good to see a variety of works. You can also see sculptures by masters such as Alexander Archipenko, Beverly Pepper, Class Oldenburg, George Segal, and Marie Frank here.
