BESTI usually don't write reviews, but I'm leaving this so you don't end up like me. I was hooked by a comment on WAUG that said to enjoy the night view on a Kobe cruise, so I made a plan to visit Kobe with the sole intention of taking a cruise and seeing the night view. It said to check the operating times on the website, but it was all in Japanese and there was no automatic translation. I searched the Japanese website and couldn't find it, so I eventually gave up and thought that since I was just going to see the night view, I could go for a ride around 6 o'clock. I looked up the sunset time and it was around 18:50. But when I arrived, I saw that the operation was over. The 5/15 Yakasha Maru cruise was canceled and the other cruise was the last one at 16:45. I don't know if the flight timetable changes on a weekly basis, but it only has a timetable from 5/13 to 5/19, and it operates until 18:45 only on weekends. In the end, I wasted all my cruise money, subway fare, and time that day. + When I was in Japan, I went to the website with my cell phone and it wasn't automatically translated, but when I came to Korea and went to the computer, it was translated automatically. Everyone, don't waste your money and time like I did, go to your computer, check the time, and make a plan.
Enjoy the Kobe port scenery,
Kobe Bay Cruise
Try boarding Kobe's bay cruises 'Ataka Maru' or 'Royal Princess'. Taking a cruise ship is the best way to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Kobe Port.
Both ships we have access to have spacious, roofless sky terraces, so you can enjoy beautiful sunset views from daytime, beautiful night views and starry sky at night, and views of the port city of Kobe as the seasons change. You can enjoy it to your heart’s content.
Introducing ships!
1. Ataka Maru
The vermilion-colored Japanese ship Gozabune Atake Maru (capacity 500) standing tall in Kobe Port was inspired by the Atake Maru, a gigantic ship built on the orders of Iemitsu, the third shogun of the Edo shogunate. It was renewed in 2017 under the supervision of Okayama-born industrial designer Eiji Mitooka. All seats are unreserved, and the interior of the ship combines the styles of various ages and cultures, such as mandalas, with colorful sliding door paintings, Japanese umbrellas, and ceiling paintings to create a luxurious and elegant space.
2. Royal Princess
The two-story ship (capacity 500 people) is the largest cruise ship in the Kansai region. The 3rd floor is a roofless sky terrace with a 360° view of the city of Kobe with Mt. Rokko in the background. The Royal Princess also passes under Kobe Bridge, so you can feel the beauty of the bridge. Kobe Ohashi Bridge is a two-story red iron bridge that connects the port terminal to Port Island, the world's first artificial island. This ship, illuminated at night, is a popular spot for taking beautiful photos and videos while looking out over Kobe from the 3rd floor sky deck, and has recently become popular on social media.
Enjoy the fantastic night view of Kobe Port
Kobe seen from the cruise is truly more beautiful than expected. I especially recommend taking a ride because you can see Kobe's iconic buildings from a completely new angle.
