This isn't just a matcha tasting; it's a workshop where you'll gradually learn about the history, space, tools, and procedures of the tea ceremony.


Savor Rich Matcha (Koicha) with a Formal Tea Ceremony

Witness the instructor perform the formal tea ceremony and encounter koicha (濃茶), a thick, concentrated form of matcha highly valued in the ceremony. Before tasting the tea, enjoy traditional Japanese sweets and explore various tea bowls from different regions. Learn how the shape and characteristics of the bowls influence the tea-drinking experience through the instructor's explanations.


Make and Taste Usucha Yourself

After observing the instructor's demonstration, it's your turn to make matcha. Learn about matcha powder and the tea utensils, then try making usucha (薄茶), a lighter form of matcha, using a bamboo whisk (chasen). Enjoy Japanese dry sweets before savoring your usucha. Slowly taste the matcha you've made yourself to conclude the workshop.
