From Kimono to Matcha Making
Immerse yourself in a traditional Japanese tea ceremony experience, complete with a kimono fitting, in a dedicated space located in the heart of Shinjuku. Choose from a wide selection of kimonos, featuring both classic seasonal patterns and modern designs. After your kimono fitting, your English-speaking host will guide you through the history, philosophy, and basic etiquette of the tea ceremony. Witness a demonstration by a tea master, then try whisking your own matcha using a traditional bamboo whisk. Conclude your experience by savoring your freshly made matcha paired with exquisite Japanese sweets.
Create Lasting Memories in a Kimono

Your experience begins with selecting a kimono that catches your eye. Our professional staff will assist you in wearing it correctly, and for female participants, a simple hairstyling service is provided to complement your kimono. With the extended rental option, you can continue exploring Shinjuku's streets or the nearby Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden while dressed in your kimono. Capture unique photos of your Tokyo adventure in traditional attire. Please note that extended rentals require kimono return by 6:00 PM.
Learn the Spirit of Tea and Make Your Own Matcha

Learn about the four core principles of Japanese tea ceremony – Wa (和, harmony), Kei (敬, respect), Sei (清, purity), and Jaku (寂, tranquility) – from your English-speaking host. You'll also gain insight into the significance of the tea ceremony within samurai culture and its long-standing traditions. After observing a demonstration by a tea master on how to prepare matcha with a bamboo whisk, you'll have the chance to try it yourself. Follow the expert's guidance to create your premium matcha and savor it slowly with seasonal Japanese sweets.
*The traditional experience takes place in a tatami room. However, if sitting on the floor is uncomfortable, you may request a chair seat.
