Begin your journey with pickup from designated locations in Kona, Keauhou, Waikoloa, or the Kohala Coast. First, visit a Kona coffee farm to tour the coffee trees and plantation, learn about the cultivation and processing of Kona coffee, and enjoy a tasting of locally produced coffee.

As you travel south, enjoy the scenery of Kealakekua Bay and the South Point area before stopping at Punaluʻu Black Sand Beach. Stroll along the black sand beach created by volcanic activity, and if you're lucky, you might even spot a Hawaiian green sea turtle resting by the shore.

Explore Kīlauea Volcano and end the day with starlight

The centerpiece of the tour is Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park. With your guide, explore the Kīlauea Iki overlook area, steam vents, and the Halemaʻumaʻu crater overlook, and walk through Nāhuku - Thurston Lava Tube. Along the Chain of Craters Road, examine the vast volcanic landscapes formed by past lava flows and hear stories about the formation of the Big Island.

Enjoy a warm dinner at a restaurant near the volcanic area before heading to the highlands towards Mauna Kea for stargazing. If the weather is clear, you'll observe stars, constellations, and planets, and hear stories about Hawaii's night sky and stars from your guide. This tour does not go to the summit of Mauna Kea; observation points are at a much lower altitude than the summit.
