Ride the Puffing Billy steam train
through the Dandenong Ranges

From your pickup point in central Melbourne, travel about 75 minutes in an air-conditioned vehicle to the Puffing Billy Railway. Board the iconic Puffing Billy steam train for a scenic one-way journey through the lush Dandenong Ranges. The ride takes 30–60 minutes depending on the section travelled.

Meeting time depends on the steam train schedule and is usually between 9:30 AM and 12:30 PM. Your guide speaks Chinese and English.

Stop at Maru Koala & Animal Park

After the train ride, travel about 1.5 hours by bus to Maru Koala & Animal Park for around 45 minutes of free time. Admission is not included, so purchase a ticket on site if you wish to enter.

The visit may not be possible depending on train times, and on some dates it may be replaced by Moonlit Sanctuary.

Enjoy coastal views at the Nobbies Centre

A 45-minute bus ride takes you to the Nobbies Centre on Phillip Island, where you'll spend about 30 minutes.

Watch the Penguin Parade at sunset

About 30 minutes from the Nobbies, arrive at the Penguin Parade and stay for about 2 hours. At sunset, watch hundreds of little penguins waddle from the sea to their burrows from the general viewing area while your guide shares facts about penguins and their conservation.

Afterwards, it's about a 2.5-hour bus ride back to Melbourne. The finish time varies with the penguins' return time.
