From Melbourne: Puffing Billy, Wildlife Park & Penguin Parade Tour - Small Group

Leave your Melbourne hotel and
ride the Puffing Billy steam train

After pickup from your Melbourne CBD hotel, head to the Dandenong Ranges in a Mercedes minibus seating up to 14. The departure time is between 8 and 11 AM depending on Puffing Billy ticket availability, and the exact time is emailed by 9 PM the day before. Your driver-guide provides live English commentary on the way.

In the morning, ride the historic Puffing Billy steam train. Sit in an open-air carriage and breathe in the mountain air as you pass towering mountain ash trees, ferns and misty rainforest.

Meet native Australian animals at a wildlife park

In the afternoon, depending on the Puffing Billy timetable, you'll visit either Maru Koala & Animal Park or Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park. Park entry is optional and paid at your own expense.

At Maru Koala & Animal Park, you can feed kangaroos and see koalas, wombats, dingoes and other native animals. At Moonlit Sanctuary, you can walk among wallabies, meet koalas and learn about the conservation of endangered species.

End the day at the Phillip Island Penguin Parade

In the evening, travel to Phillip Island and spend about 2 hours watching the Penguin Parade from the general viewing area. See little penguins emerge from the sea at dusk and waddle across the beach to their burrows, then return to the Melbourne CBD.
