Sail from Cairns on a 16-meter classic sailing boat and explore the Great Barrier Reef and Green Island in a single day. Limited to a maximum of 25 guests, this small-group tour takes you to an exclusive reef site where the operator holds a permit, so you can step straight off the boat to snorkel. A snorkel tour with a marine naturalist is included, and depending on your option you can also try an introductory dive or a certified dive. After lunch, enjoy free time on the beach at Green Island, then relax on the way back as the engines are switched off and the sails go up.

Board a classic sailing boat
and head for the Great Barrier Reef
Meet the crew at the Reef Fleet Terminal in Cairns and board the classic schooner. Coffee or tea, fresh fruit and Danish pastries are served on boarding. You can take the helm or help raise the sails, or simply sit back and enjoy the ocean views.
The boat heads to coral gardens in the Green Zone of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. The operator holds a permit for this site, so only guests on this tour snorkel and dive here.
Snorkel and dive at an exclusive reef site

Once moored, you will receive a snorkel briefing and then jump straight into the water. Discover colorful corals and schools of reef fish, and you may also spot rays, turtles and shy blacktip reef sharks. If you are nervous about snorkeling for the first time, join the small crew-assisted snorkel tour.
With a diving option, beginners can enjoy an introductory dive with just two divers per instructor, and no prior experience is needed. Certified divers dive in a small group with a dive guide. Dives are conducted at around 10 to 12 m, and deep or drift dives are not available.
Enjoy a buffet lunch and free time on Green Island

After the morning in the water, enjoy a buffet lunch on board with Tasmanian salmon, prawns, mixed meats, chicken and salads. After lunch, take a short transfer to the beach at Green Island and enjoy up to 2 hours of free time.
Relax on the beach, walk across the island, have a drink at the resort or visit Marineland Melanesia to see crocodiles. Island activities are paid directly on the island. If you would like to snorkel again in the afternoon, return to the boat with the first island pickup.
Raise the sails and return to Cairns

After about 4.5 hours at the reef and island, the engines are switched off for a true sailing experience on the way home. Enjoy an afternoon tea platter of fresh fruit, cheese and crackers and cake with a glass of wine as you sail back to Cairns.
※ Wildlife such as sea turtles lives in the wild, so sightings cannot be guaranteed.
