Highlights
Board Reef Experience, a 24 m aluminium catamaran, at Cairns Marlin Marina and cruise to two Outer Reef sites on the Great Barrier Reef. Program
Board Reef Experience and
head to two Outer Reef sites
Check in on Reef Experience at Finger A, Cairns Marlin Marina, by 7:30 AM, and depart at 8:00 AM. The two reef sites are chosen on the day from Hastings, Norman and Saxon Reefs or Breaking Patches, depending on weather conditions.
On the roughly 1.5-hour cruise to the first reef, enjoy a bacon and egg roll prepared by the onboard chef. Complimentary tea and coffee are available all day while the vessel is stationary.
Scuba dive or snorkel at the first reef
At the first reef, enjoy the scuba dive included in your tour price. Certified divers can dive, and first-timers can join a 20-minute introductory dive. You can also snorkel over the reef instead of diving.
Enjoy a barbecue lunch and a marine biologist talk
Back on board after the morning session, enjoy a freshly prepared lunch of barbecued meats, vegetables and a variety of salads. The resident marine biologist explains the marine life you have seen or are about to see.
Explore the second reef and cruise back with wine
At the second reef, enjoy unlimited snorkeling or join an optional additional scuba dive at extra cost. On the return cruise, relax with a complimentary glass of wine, cheese, crackers and fresh fruit. You will arrive back in Cairns at around 4:30 PM.
