Meet your guide on Camp Street in central Queenstown and set off in a premium Mercedes van with Wi-Fi. Glenorchy lies about 45 minutes from Queenstown at the northern end of Lake Wakatipu. Along the Glenorchy–Queenstown Road, known as one of New Zealand's most scenic drives, you will stop at viewpoints for photos.
Explore Glenorchy village and the lakefront
In Glenorchy, admire the mountain ranges and native beech forests rising behind the village. Visit the famous red shed and the lakefront with free time for a stroll, and hear stories from your guide about Glenorchy and Māori history.
Visit Lord of the Rings filming locations in Paradise
Follow the Glenorchy–Paradise Road toward Paradise and Mount Aspiring National Park, taking in the surrounding scenery including Diamond Lake. Your guide sets up a picnic of New Zealand treats at a scenic spot, where you can enjoy local snacks with coffee and tea (about 30 minutes). You then return to Queenstown via Glenorchy, and the tour ends in front of Marmolada Cafe.
