Queenstown 12 Mile Delta Half-Day Canyoning

This is a half-day canyoning adventure of about 4 hours in a canyon at 12 Mile Delta near Queenstown. No previous experience is needed, so it suits first-timers and thrill-seekers alike, and it also works well for groups and team building.

Get a safety briefing and head to the base station

Check in at the Canyon Explorers base at 37 Camp Street in Queenstown 15 minutes before departure and meet your guide in the departure lounge. Your guide shares safety information and checks that you are fit for the trip, then you travel by van for about 15 minutes to the base station and put on your canyoning gear.

Descend the canyon by zipline, abseil and slide

Walk through ancient beech forest down to the start of the canyon, then explore it by zipline, waterfall abseiling, slides, jumps into natural pools and squeezing through narrow passages. Experienced guides are with you for about 3 hours.

Finish with a hot shower and warm drinks

After the tour, drive back to the base to use the changing rooms and hot showers and warm up with complimentary tea, coffee or hot chocolate. You also get free photos of your adventure.
