Leave Queenstown early in the morning
and cross the heart of the South Island
After an early-morning pickup from designated points in central Queenstown, head to Mount Cook in a premium Mercedes van. As you pass the Cromwell Fruit Bowl, your guide shares engaging commentary on local scenery, history and culture, and Wi-Fi is available on board.
Admire Lindis Pass and Lake Pukaki
Stop briefly at Lindis Pass for photos and take a break in Omarama. Pass through Twizel and drive along Lake Pukaki, taking in the iconic scenery of the South Island.
Explore Mount Cook Village
at your own pace for 3.5 hours
On arrival at Aoraki Mount Cook Village, enjoy 3.5 hours of free time. Walk hiking trails such as the Hooker Valley Track, or book local activities such as a helicopter tour or Glacier Explorers boat tour separately. Entry to the Sir Edmund Hillary Alpine Centre is included.
Return to Queenstown enjoying the views
In the afternoon, board the van again, take a short break in Omarama and return to Queenstown. The tour lasts about 12 hours.
