This small-group, one-way tour runs from Christchurch to Aoraki Mount Cook Village via Lake Tekapo and Lake Pukaki. Cross the Canterbury Plains and the town of Fairlie, pick up your pre-ordered lunch at Fairlie Bakehouse, and stop at the Church of the Good Shepherd on the shores of Lake Tekapo. On clear days you can see Aoraki rising beyond Lake Pukaki. In the national park, walk the Tasman Glacier View Track or the Hooker Valley Track or explore Mount Cook Village, and end your journey at Mount Cook without returning to Christchurch.

Leave Christchurch and cross
the Canterbury Plains
Depart early in the morning from designated pickup points such as central Christchurch hotels and an airport hotel. Heading south, your English-speaking guide introduces the highlights of the city center, then you cross the Rakaia Bridge onto the Canterbury Plains, with their braided rivers and patchwork fields. Wi-Fi and USB charging are available on board.
After a short break in Geraldine, stop for about 10 minutes at Fairlie Bakehouse in the farming town of Fairlie. Known for its pies, this is where your pre-ordered lunch is prepared. In autumn, the trees along the streets and Burkes Pass turn bright orange.
Admire the Southern Alps from
Lake Tekapo and Lake Pukaki

Spend about 15 minutes at Lake Tekapo, taking in views of the Southern Alps and the tussock landscape of the Mackenzie Country, and visit the Church of the Good Shepherd, one of the most photographed spots in New Zealand. From late November to early January, wild lupins bloom along the lakeshore.
Your last stop before the national park is about 10 minutes at Lake Pukaki. This glacier-formed lake changes color with the weather, and on clear days you can see Aoraki rising beyond it.
Explore Aoraki Mount Cook National Park
and finish in the village

In Aoraki Mount Cook National Park, spend about 2 to 2.5 hours walking the Tasman Glacier View Track or the Hooker Valley Track, or visiting the visitor centre and the Sir Edmund Hillary Alpine Centre in Mount Cook Village. Scenic flights can be booked separately (extra cost).
Your guide will tell you the meeting time for drop-off in Mount Cook Village before the 2:15 pm departure. The tour ends at Aoraki Mount Cook Village (National Park Visitor Centre) and does not return to Christchurch.
※ Time in the national park may be shorter due to delays caused by other guests or road conditions.
※ Additional stops may be made for restroom breaks.
※ Mountain and lake views and lupin blooms depend on weather and season and are not guaranteed.
