Enjoy a geothermal walk and mud spa
at Hell's Gate
This ticket combines three of the most popular experiences at Hell's Gate: a geothermal walk, a mud bath, and a sulphur spa. The experience takes about 3 hours, and you get to feel the benefits of the geothermal mud and sulphur waters used by local Māori for centuries.
Walk through the geothermal area to see mud pools and Kakahi Falls
Join a guided tour for the geothermal walk, or explore on your own with the walking map. Free guided tours run daily at 10:30 AM and 2:30 PM. See bubbling mud pools, steaming geothermal features, and Kakahi Falls.
Relax with a mud bath and sulphur spa
After the walk, bathe in geothermal mud at the mud spa and soak in the sulphur spa. For health and safety reasons, mud bath use is limited to 20 minutes per person per day, and you can cool off in the cold plunge pool.
Finish with a Māori carving experience
Finally, join the interactive Māori carving experience. Watch the carvers at work up close and, with their guidance, make your own taonga (treasure) to take home. Children must be 12 or older to join the carving experience.
