Begin your wellness journey with a karakia (blessing) at Te Hihiri, an obsidian stone from Mount Tarawera. Symbolising the connection to the land, ancestors and Māori spirituality, the stone invites you to leave behind the stresses and worries of daily life.

Warm up in the geothermal pools

The Whangapipiro geo soak pool (38–40°C) holds silica-rich alkaline mineral water drawn from beneath the earth, known for easing tired muscles and softening the skin. Puna Wai Wera (40–41°C) is the hottest geothermal pool, where you can relax while looking out over Mokoia Island and Lake Rotorua.

Alternate between the cold plunge and herbal pool

Puna Tio is a 12°C cold plunge pool where you can experience the traditional Māori practice of alternating hot and cold water. The Wai Pāheko herbal pool (38–39°C) is infused with kawakawa, mānuka and kānuka plants for a gently aromatic soak.

Finish in the hydrotherapy pool

In the Wai Whakaoho hydrotherapy pool (36°C), lie back on submerged bubble loungers for a water massage, and enjoy a waterfall shower and jets targeting your shoulders, neck and lower back. Finally, complete your bathing with a karakia at the Te Ngao stone.
