The Ancient Orient Museum, Japan's first museum specializing in the Ancient Orient, is on the 7th floor of the Sunshine City Culture Center. It displays artifacts from West Asia and Egypt, archaeological materials related to the Silk Road that linked East and West, and relics unearthed during excavations in Syria.

The collection exhibition "Time Travel! The Ancient Orient World" presents the museum's holdings and related materials. As a crossroads of Africa, Europe and Asia, the Orient blended many cultures and had a great influence on human history. Through the artifacts and artworks it left behind, you can better understand how people lived at the time.
An easy stop on your Ikebukuro trip
The museum is a 6-minute walk from Exits 6 and 7 of Higashi-Ikebukuro Station on the Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line. It is open daily from 10:00 to 17:00, with last admission at 16:30. Just show the QR code on your phone to the staff when you enter.
