Discover the history of the Indian and South Asian communities in Southeast Asia at the Indian Heritage Centre in Little India. Run by the National Heritage Board with the support of the Indian community, it opened in May 2015. The permanent galleries on levels 3 and 4 span the 1st century CE to the 21st century across five themes, featuring ancient sculptures, ceremonial artefacts and stories of early migrants. The building, inspired by the Indian stepwell (baoli), is a sight in itself, and it is a great starting point for exploring Little India after your visit.

Discover the history of the Indian community
at the Indian Heritage Centre in Little India
The Indian Heritage Centre is a four-storey building at 5 Campbell Lane in Little India. It blends traditional Indian and modern architectural elements, and its facade is inspired by the Indian stepwell (baoli).
By day, the translucent glass facade shines like a glowing jewel, and at night the colourful facade mural lights up, turning it into a glowing lantern of the Indian community. Inside are five permanent galleries, a museum shop and programming and activity spaces.
