Learn the history and philosophy of kintsugi
at an artisan's studio
For centuries, Japanese artisans have repaired broken pottery with lacquer and gold, honoring the life of the object. The workshop takes place at an artisan's studio and begins with an overview of the history, philosophy and cultural significance of kintsugi.
Join the pieces with synthetic lacquer
and fill the missing parts

Guided by a master artisan, join broken pottery pieces using synthetic lacquer, a modern and easily available material, and fill missing parts with resin. Work calmly at your own pace while feeling the spirit of patience and care at the heart of kintsugi.
Apply golden powder
to complete your own piece

Finally, gently dust silver-based golden powder over the repaired lines to bring them to life in gold. Your finished piece will have visible repair marks, and the charm of kintsugi is that these become a symbol of value rather than damage.
You can take your finished piece home, along with the skills to continue practicing kintsugi at home.
