Put on a kimono and experience a Japanese tea ceremony in a traditional tea room on the 4th floor of the Sheraton Miyako Hotel Osaka in Uehonmachi. Learn about the culture, traditions and etiquette of tea from a certified tea master, watch a tea ceremony demonstration and then make and drink your own matcha. Matcha and Japanese sweets are included, and there is plenty of time to take photos in your kimono. You will also learn how to enjoy matcha at home.

Wear a kimono and join a tea ceremony
in a traditional tea room

The tea ceremony takes place in a traditional tea room on the 4th floor of the Sheraton Miyako Hotel Osaka. Kimonos for women and men are available, and you will be shown how to wear one easily over your clothes. Once you are dressed, the tea master will begin the ceremony.

Learn the tea ceremony from a tea master

A certified tea master explains the culture, history and etiquette of the tea ceremony and then prepares tea for you. Enjoy matcha and Japanese sweets while watching the demonstration and learn how to enjoy matcha.

Make and drink your own matcha

Finally, you will make and drink your own matcha. There is plenty of time for photos in your kimono. You will sit on tatami mats, but cushions are provided and you can sit on a chair if you prefer.
