The tour begins with hotel pickup. Travel by vehicle into the heart of Chongqing, known as the "8D mountain city," and explore its old streets, steep hills, riverside views and colorful night scenery over the course of the day.

The small-group tour has up to 10 people, with a Chinese- or English-speaking driver-guide who communicates in simple English. The private tour includes a private vehicle and an English-speaking guide who goes into every attraction with you, shares in-depth stories, and recommends local food and activities.

Cross the Yangtze River by cable car

Ride Chongqing's iconic Yangtze River Cableway across the river. From above, you can take in the waterways, layered high-rises and steep hills that shape Chongqing's distinctive cityscape. A one-way cable car fare is included.

Visit Ciqikou Ancient Town and the historic sites of Gele Mountain

At Ciqikou Ancient Town, once a thriving porcelain port, walk through stone-paved alleys and traditional wooden houses and taste local food from snack stalls.

Next, visit Zhazidong and Baigongguan on the wooded slopes of Gele Mountain. These former wartime prisons are now memorial sites that preserve the original buildings and present exhibits on the sacrifice and recovery of modern Chinese history.

Explore Liziba Station, Zhongshan 4th Road and the Great Hall of the People

At Liziba Station, watch the monorail appear to pass straight through a residential high-rise, the famous "train through a building" scene. Take a slow walk along Zhongshan 4th Road, shaded by old trees and lined with Republic of China-era buildings, and get a feel for Chongqing's role as the wartime capital.

At the Chongqing Great Hall of the People, admire the palace-style dome and red pillars from outside and take photos. Across the square, the Three Gorges Museum presents exhibits on the Yangtze River, Three Gorges culture and the development of Chongqing.

End the tour with the night view of Hongyadong

Around dusk, the tour ends at Hongyadong, where traditional multi-story buildings line the riverside cliff. After the group disbands here, you can browse the night market, try more local snacks, or cross the bridge to photograph Hongyadong's lights reflected on the river.
