See Chongqing's iconic landmarks in one day
with a local guide
After pickup from your hotel in Yuzhong District, you explore Chongqing for about 8.5 to 9 hours by subway, on foot and by vehicle. The tour is run as a private group, and your guide flexibly adjusts the plan based on real-time weather, the places you want to visit and places you have already been. Your first stop is the thousand-year-old Luohan Temple set among skyscrapers. Amid the scent of incense, admire 500 stone arhats, each with a unique expression and pose.
Discover Raffles City and the Yangtze River Cableway
Photograph Raffles City, eight sail-shaped towers connected by a crystal corridor 300m above the ground. You also visit the old city gate beside the confluence of the two rivers. After lunch time at a local restaurant, cross the Yangtze River by cable car. Cargo ships glide below, and you can see at a glance how the city clings to the steep riverbanks.
Walk riverside old streets and watch the sunset from a ferry
Descend steep stone steps to the recently restored Longmenhao Old Street. Trendy cafes now fill the old shopping street, where you can taste traditional tea with a modern twist. Explore Nanbin Zhonglou Square and Changjiahui Danzishi Old Street, and look around an interactive exhibition showing how the city has changed with your guide. Then board a ferry to enjoy the sunset and the skyline as the lights begin to come on.
Finish with Kuixinglou and the Liziba monorail
Visit Kuixinglou, where what seems like an ordinary square suddenly reveals the street 40m below. Through the glass floor, you can watch traffic moving like toys. Finally, ride the monorail that passes right through the 6th to 8th floors of a building, climb the Liziba viewing platform to photograph the next train emerging from the building, and end the tour in Yuzhong District.
