Maldives Dhigurah Whale Shark & Manta Ray Snorkeling Tour with Hotel Pickup

Snorkel with whale sharks
in the South Ari Marine Protected Area

The tour starts with pickup from your accommodation, followed by a short boat ride to the whale shark feeding area in the South Ari Marine Protected Area (SAMPA). The area is known as a place where whale sharks can be seen all year round. An experienced local guide helps search for where the whale sharks appear.

Once a whale shark is spotted, you enter the water and snorkel beside it while keeping a safe distance. Whale sharks are large but gentle creatures that pose no harm to people. Your guide stays with you throughout the snorkeling.

Enter the water again at a manta ray point

Next, you move to a spot where manta rays come to be cleaned or to feed, and snorkel there. You can watch manta rays glide through the water, and they sometimes come quite close. Depending on conditions, you may encounter whale sharks and manta rays more than once.

Look for sea turtles and tropical fish before returning

On the way, look out for other marine life such as sea turtles and colorful damselfish. Seasonal fruit snacks and bottled water are provided during the tour. At the end, relax on the boat ride back before being dropped off at your accommodation.
