Pai Big Buddha, Santichon & Pai Canyon Private Car Tour - Sunset

in one day by private car

This tour of about 9 hours departs from your hotel in Pai at 10:00 AM and returns around 7:00 PM. You travel in an air-conditioned private vehicle with a driver who speaks enough English to communicate, and since the car is for your group only, you can skip any stops by letting the driver know in advance. Small groups travel by standard car and larger groups by van.

Memorial bridge, white Buddha and a Long Neck Karen village

First, visit the WWII-era Tha-Pai Memorial Bridge with views of the Pai River. At Wat Phra That Mae Yen, climb the stairs to the big white Buddha and look out over the whole valley. At the Long Neck Karen village, learn about the unique culture and traditions of this community.

Relax at the bamboo bridge, hot spring and waterfall

Walk along the Kho Ku So Bamboo Bridge as it winds over green rice fields, and take photos and enjoy a berry drink at Love Strawberry Pai. Soak in the mineral-rich Tha Pai Hot Spring, then visit Mo Paeng Waterfall.

Santichon, Yun Lai Viewpoint
and sunset at Pai Canyon

Explore Santichon, a Yunnanese village with traditional mud houses and a replica of the Great Wall of China, then head up to nearby Yun Lai Viewpoint for views over the valley. Finish at Pai Canyon with its steep cliffs and narrow ridges to watch the evening scenery, and return to your hotel around 7:00 PM.
