This group tour of about 6 hours picks you up from your Yogyakarta accommodation in the evening and takes you to the Gubug Merapi Arum Sari viewpoint at the foot of Mount Merapi. You join travelers from around the world, accompanied by an English-speaking driver. From a designated viewpoint, you can safely watch Mount Merapi and its lava at night.

Pickup from your accommodation around 7–8 PM

After pickup from your accommodation around 7:00–8:00 PM, drive about 45 minutes to 1 hour from Yogyakarta city to the foot of Mount Merapi.

Wait for the lava at the Arum Sari viewpoint

At the Gubug Merapi Arum Sari viewpoint, spend about 3 hours relaxing, taking photos and enjoying free time. Away from the crowds and city noise, watch glowing lava flow down the slopes of Mount Merapi.

Relax with fried banana and warm tea

While waiting for the lava, enjoy fried snacks such as fried banana, a signature Merapi snack, and warm tea made in the village. Snacks, drinks and the entrance ticket are included only with the all-inclusive option.

At the end of the evening, your driver takes you back to your accommodation.
