Stop by Mae Wang Market and enjoy a meal

Arriving in Mae Wang, in central Chiang Mai Province, around 10:00 AM, you'll first visit the vibrant Mae Wang Market to try local treats. At 11:00 AM, enjoy a meal before heading to the rafting river.

Glide along the clear river
on a 4-5 m bamboo raft

Around noon, head up the hill to the bamboo rafts. Each raft is about 4-5 meters long and specially designed to stay steady even over the river's rocky sections. Each raft holds about 3-4 people depending on weight distribution, and you can raft by yourself or with the help of a guide. The water is clear and refreshingly cool.

Feel the nature along the riverbank

Traditional bamboo rafts are a peaceful, eco-friendly way to take in the scenery of the Mae Wang River valley. Along the way you may spot wildlife such as birds and butterflies, or see elephants bathing at riverside elephant sanctuaries. The gentle flow makes it comfortable for families too.
