A day with elephants
at Hug Elephant Sanctuary in Chiang Mai

Hug Elephant Sanctuary is a family-owned and operated elephant sanctuary about 90 minutes from Chiang Mai city, committed to ethical elephant tourism. After pickup from your accommodation in Chiang Mai town, you travel to the sanctuary and meet the elephants with a local guide. Choose a full-day tour (08:00–17:00) or a half-day tour (morning 06:30–13:30, afternoon 12:00–18:30).

Feed and bond with the elephants

Learn about elephant behavior and history from a local Thai guide, then feed the elephants yourself and interact with them in their natural environment. Food for the elephants is included.

Mud bath and a waterfall swim

Walk with the elephants to the river, help with their mud bath and swim at the waterfall. On the full-day tour, you also trek with the elephants to a hilltop for views of the surrounding area.

Thai lunch at the camp

Enjoy a delicious Thai lunch at the camp, change into dry clothes and return to your accommodation in Chiang Mai town. A bottle of water and travel accident insurance are also included.
