Highlights
This day cruise takes you by fast catamaran from Airlie Beach to Whitehaven Beach, Hill Inlet and a fringing reef. This cruise covers three highlights of the Whitsundays in one day: the white sands of Whitehaven Beach, the turquoise waters of Hill Inlet and snorkeling on a fringing reef. Check in at Rufus & Co. Cafe in Airlie Beach at 8:30 AM, depart by fast catamaran at 9:00 AM and return to the Port of Airlie at around 4:45 to 5:00 PM.
Walk up to Hill Inlet Lookout with a guide
Join a guide for a bush walk of about 45 minutes to Hill Inlet Lookout. Walk uphill for about 15 minutes, spend 15 minutes taking in the views and photos across the lookouts, then walk down for 15 minutes. Look down on the famous swirls created where white silica sand meets turquoise water.
The natural trail has stairs and slopes and requires a moderate level of fitness, so please wear comfortable walking shoes.
Snorkel a fringing reef
Spend about 45 minutes snorkeling a fringing reef, looking for colorful fish and marine life. Equipment, flotation devices, instruction and crew supervision are included, and the crew chooses the snorkel site based on the day's conditions. Stand-up paddleboards may be available in safe conditions.
Have lunch and relax at South Whitehaven Beach
Land at South Whitehaven Beach and spend about an hour having lunch, enjoying the sand, taking a quick swim or relaxing. Lunch is a buffet-style spread with sliced salami, roast beef, ham off the bone, three salads, wraps and sauces. It is not all-you-can-eat, but extra servings may be available once everyone has been served.
Afternoon fruit is provided, and a shared shade cabana and beach games are available when possible.
