A day on a jet speedboat to the
Great Barrier Reef and Whitehaven Beach

Meet at 7:40 AM at Meeting Point B at Coral Sea Marina North and board the speedboat. Over about 8 hours, snorkel the outer Great Barrier Reef, relax and have lunch on Whitehaven Beach and hike to Hill Inlet Lookout before returning to Airlie Beach. The order depends on the tides on the day, so you may visit the beach or lookout first.

Snorkel the outer Great Barrier Reef

Speed out to the Great Barrier Reef and gear up to discover vibrant marine life at Bait Reef Lagoon or the Stepping Stones. Snorkel at your own pace or with a professional guide. As this is an outer reef with no infrastructure, you enter the water from the back of the boat.

Relax and have lunch on Whitehaven Beach

Skim across the waves to the southern end of Whitehaven Beach for free time to relax on the sand, swim in the crystal-clear water or unwind in the shade of the trees. Lunch is an all-you-can-eat buffet of salads, cold meats, cheese and bread, and morning and afternoon tea feature a fruit platter and lamingtons.

Bushwalk up to Hill Inlet Lookout

Back on the boat, race to the northern end of the beach and take a bushwalk up to Hill Inlet Lookout for its famous views. The track is of moderate difficulty with many stone steps. Afterwards, the speedboat takes you back to Airlie Beach.
