Hellfire Pass is a dramatic section of the railway literally cut through a mountain. Walk through it to witness the monumental effort behind it, and hear stories of suffering and resilience at the Hellfire Pass Memorial Museum.

Ride the Death Railway

After lunch at a local restaurant near Namtok Station, take the train along the historic “Death Railway,” built by Allied prisoners of war during World War II. It is named for the thousands of prisoners who lost their lives building this link between Thailand and Myanmar (Burma). The train runs across the Tham Krasae wooden viaduct, which skirts a cliff above the Khwae Noi River, and crosses the famous Bridge over the River Kwai.
