Climb 272 steps to Batu Caves
At the Hindu shrine of Batu Caves, hear from your guide about the roots of Hinduism in Malaysia. Climb the 272 steps near the golden statue of Murugan and, at the top, enter Cathedral Cave, the largest cave, to hear the stories behind the Hindu deities. You will spend about 1 hour here.
Visit Thean Hou Temple and the National Mosque of Malaysia
Set on Robson Hill, Thean Hou Temple was built by Kuala Lumpur's Hainanese community, completed in 1987 and officially opened in 1989, and is dedicated to the goddess Tian Hou. Next, visit the National Mosque of Malaysia, designed in the late 1950s as a symbol of the newly independent nation and set above gardens.
Stroll through Chinatown and Little India
On Petaling Street in Chinatown, browse stalls run by Chinese, Indian, Malaysian and Bangladeshi traders, and watch local favourites such as curry mee, Hokkien mee, ikan bakar (grilled fish) and asam laksa being prepared. Enjoy a little shopping around Central Market and explore Little India before returning to your hotel.
