This guided stand-up paddleboard (SUP) tour takes place on the calm waters of Tanjung Aru Beach in Kota Kinabalu. Choose between a sunrise session, when the first light colors the horizon, and a sunset session, when the golden sky reflects on the sea. A safety demonstration and SUP technique briefing before you head out make it suitable for both beginners and experienced paddlers. Paddle at a relaxed pace along an uncrowded stretch of coast and capture sunrise or sunset photos on the water.

Watch the sunrise or sunset
from the water at Tanjung Aru
This is a guided stand-up paddleboarding activity on the calm coast of Tanjung Aru. Book either the sunrise session, when dawn softly lights the horizon, or the sunset session, when the sky and sea turn golden as the sun goes down. Instructors guide in English and Malay.
Gear up and get safety training
Meet at the Xtreme Paddlers base on Tanjung Aru Beach, check in, get fitted with equipment and receive a safety demonstration. A SUP technique briefing then teaches you how to stand on the board and paddle before you head out with your guide.
Paddle at a relaxed pace and enjoy the views
Paddle the calm coastal waters at a relaxed pace while taking in the horizon. After taking photos on the water, paddle back to shore.
Return your gear and wrap up
Back on shore, return your equipment, rinse off and change before the session ends.
