Leave your hotel at dawn
to see the sunrise at El Tatio Geysers
After pick-up from your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama between 4:30 AM and 5:10 AM, head to the El Tatio Geysers at more than 4,300 m above sea level. At sunrise, hundreds of steam columns rise into the air, and you explore the contrast between the white steam and the colors of the sunrise with your guide.
Enjoy breakfast surrounded by mountains
After visiting the geysers, enjoy the included breakfast surrounded by the Andes. Mornings at the geysers are cold enough to drop below freezing at any time of year, so dress warmly.
Look for Andean wildlife in the Putana Valley and lagoons
On the way back, enjoy the Andean scenery and see a lagoon where flamingos gather and the flora and fauna of the Putana Valley. You may spot native wildlife such as vicuñas, flamingos and foxes. The tour ends between 11:00 AM and 11:40 AM at Plaza Touristour in San Pedro de Atacama.
